Equipment Fund-Raising Success in 2007

In January 2008, the Foundation presented Holy Cross Hospital with a check for $230,000 for the Picture Perfect Health Project to upgrade the Radiology Department of the hospital. This total exceeds the 2007 Foundation goal of raising $180,000 for the hospital’s radiology upgrade project.

A big THANK YOU goes out to all the generous people of Taos, the generous foundations (especially the Coleman Foundation and the John and Jeanne Hughes Foundation), and the generous organizations (especially the Holy Cross Hospital Auxiliary) who helped us achieve our goal.

• A scholarship web page has been added to the HCHF web site. This web site explains the scholarships and contains links to the application forms.
• We have emailed everyone in the hospital with information about the scholarships, and we have put up scholarship information, pictures of last year’s recipients, and application forms on a bulletin board near the hospital’s main entrance.
• We have made presentations to the seniors at all the Taos County high schools.
• We have sent information about the HCH scholarships to UNM-Taos, UNM Main Campus, Highlands, NNM College, Adams State U, NMSU, and Central NMCC.
• We have put an announcement concerning the scholarships in the Taos News announcements section. It refers readers to the HCHF web site. It will run through the end of March.

Kids in Need

In the last few months, the Kids in Need program has paid for food allergy tests for a needy child and has purchased and given an adaptive wheelchair to a disabled child. For the full story, please go to our Kids in Need page and bring up our recent press release.

2008 Toast of Taos

Toast of Taos planning is well underway. Almost 20 galleries have signed on to the Art D’Vine gallery tour, and restaurants, wineries, and sponsors are signing on every day. This year’s festivities include 4 wine dinners, a big kick-off at the KTAO Solar Center, our big Art D’Vine Gallery Tour, and a fine wine/art auction. Marketing will appear all over the Southwest in such publications as 5280 Magazine (Denver style magazine), Southwest Art, Albuquerque: The Magazine, Albuquerque Journal, and other media.
