After growing up in upstate New York, becoming a surgical nurse, and spending most of her adult life in Florida, Judy moved to Taos in 2003 with her husband, Dr. Alden Cockburn. Since then, her day job has been running Taos Surgical Specialties.

However, just as many have found when venturing west, Judy’s tree has branched! She now attends school at UNM to master silver-smithing and jewelry making. She didn’t even know she had an artistic side!

Judy fulfills her philanthropic tendencies by serving on the board and as an officer of Holy Cross Hospital Foundation. So, in her life in Taos, she spends her days taking care of patients, and, through the Foundation, she helps children and our community as a whole.
