Bea
Douglas was born and raised in Bexley, Ohio, - a suburb of Columbus.
A true Buckeye, she graduated from Ohio State with a BA in Social
Adm.; and, later, a MA in Education. She started teaching at
the Lab School at OSU - as a kindergarten assistant; later,
she taught in the Columbus Public Schools and in Tuppers Plains,
where she was an elementary school principal. She continued
this role in Lorain, Ohio while raising two boys, who were a
handful and a joy. After retiring, Bea ran for the Lorain, Ohio,
Board of Education; serving as president in 1989. She was a
member of the City Charter Commission. After a year as president
of the Lakeland Woman's Club, she moved to Naples, FL. where
she headed the Naples Players Theatre Guild when the group took
the QE 2 to see the renovated Globe Theater in London. Bea,
and her partner, John III, lived aboard the yacht, Golden Eagle,
moored in Naples Bay. They moved to Taos Canyon in 1999, when
the Mountain called. They are blessed by its tranquility.
"I'm so honored to be a part of the Holy Cross Hospital
Auxiliary, to work with this dedicated group who are so diversified
and talented. The Hospital is a beacon of hope and help to everyone
in Taos.
With
God's help, may I be of service and support to this cause."-BD
